icWales - £1m fuel fraud is rumbled: "A £1m fuel fraud saw cheap kerosene sold as road diesel across the UK.
The scam - spotted when a tanker was stopped on the M4, in 2001 - ended earlier this week in a conviction and a warrant for the arrest of the guilty operator when he failed to turn up at Cardiff Crown Court for a jury's verdict.
Since November, 12 jurors have been hearing details of how Irishman Joseph Strain and others were said to have been involved in mixing vegetable oil with cheap kerosene for sale to small garages and other operators, as diesel."
